The author is the person who who writes the book. The illustrator is the person who draws the pictures for the book.
HOW IT WORKS:
It’s important to know who has created the "work" you are reading. We name the author and illustrator because it is their work that you are reading and looking at.
HOW IT'S USED IN EVERYDAY LIFE:
Authors and illustrators are used every day in books, TV, Newspapers and Internet Articles.
Lyrics
Writin’ books over here
What you doin homie?
Writin’ books over here
Got my pencil on me
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
I woke up an author
Pennin’ best sellers
Just give me an offer
I choose the setting and select the plot
I change the weather
I can make it hot
I’m Stephen King
Might be J.K. Rowling
Writing machine, I just keeps it goin’ (keeps it goin)
And any theme, I can handle it
Handy Manny, I’m fully equipped
Fiction or non fiction
That means its true
Fables and fair tales runnin’ loose
In the zoo
Check verse 2 to learn what illustrators do (what they do)
Writin’ books over here
What you doin homie?
Writin’ books over here
Got my pencil on me
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books (I woke up an author)
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books (I woke up an author)
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books (I woke up an author)
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books (I woke up an author)
I’m an illustrator my friend, I draw
Give a cat claws (rawr rawr, rawr rawr)
Design a cover for all your books
The story Peter Pan, I drew Captain Hook
I matter just as much cuz my works on the front
You can’t judge a book by its cover, they say
But everybody does anyways
So come to me, allow me to create something great
Use a stencil, get my painting straight
I’m Van Gogh wit it (Gogh wit it)
Nile River how I flow wit it
Bring your book on Egypt
I’ll throw some gold in it
Writin’ books over here
What you doin homie?
Writin’ books over here
Got my pencil on me
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
Writin’ books over here
What you doin homie?
Writin’ books over here
Got my pencil on me
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
Writin’ books, writin’ books, writin’ books
