Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 6, 2026

KOOLriculum is built for classrooms, so protecting student privacy is a priority. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

1. Information we collect

Account details: name, email address, school or classroom, and role (student, teacher, school admin).

Learning activity: songs played, flashcard reviews, quiz answers and scores, used to show progress.

Billing details for paid plans are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.

2. How we use it

To provide the service, show progress to the student and to their authorized teachers and school administrators, support accounts, and improve our content.

We do not sell personal information and do not use student data for advertising.

3. Who can see student data

Students see their own progress. Teachers see students in their classrooms. School administrators see their school. KOOLriculum administrators may access data to provide support.

4. Children's privacy (COPPA / FERPA)

When a school creates student accounts, the school provides consent on behalf of parents as permitted by COPPA, and student records are handled as education records under FERPA. Parents may request to review or delete their child's information through the school or by contacting us.

5. Security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted by role. We keep data while an account is active and delete it on request or after an account is closed, unless the law requires otherwise.

6. Your choices

You can update your name, request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account at any time.

7. Changes

We will post updates to this policy here and change the date above.
