Sign inDEFINITION:
a numerical or constant quantity placed before and multiplying the variable in an algebraic expression
HOW TO
Example:
6z means 6 times z, and "z" is a variable, so 6 is a coefficient. Sometimes a letter stands in for the number. Example: In ax2 + bx + c, "x" is a variable, and "a" and "b" are coefficients.
Everyday Use:
Null
Lyrics
Hey, what’s up?
Avian Drawback again
Today I’m going to tell you about coefficients
Coefficients should be one of the easiest things you learn in math
In simple terms the coefficient is the number in front of the
Letter or the variable in an equation
If you don’t see a number in front of the variable
Then the coefficient is 1
For example 6a + b + 2xy
The 6 and 6a is a coefficient
Plus b, there is no number in front of it
So b would be considered 1
Plus 2xy
The 2 in 2xy would be considered a coefficient
Now remember any number before a variable is a coefficient
Or just a number before a letter
Alright, so I think you know what a coefficient is now
So goodluck!
