Lyrics
Gerunds, Participles, and Infinitives Lyrics
Gerunds, Participles, and Infinitives
They’re simple.
Gerunds, Participles, and Infinitives
They’re simple.
(Maybe if you only knew,
that these words are what you do.)
They function as nouns
But with a different sound
Wait and see
The words end in “ing”
They’re called Gerunds
And here are sentences
Where you can hear them
“Running isn’t as fun for you.”
“Traveling for me is very new.”
Participles act as adjectives
And modify nouns in sentences
They mostly end in “ing”
But also end in “ed”
An infinitive is a word plus a verb
Examples include “to fly” or “to learn”
These words tell us
What you do
So if I can do it
Well, then you can too.
