Slopes

Definition:

The slope of a line is the ratio of the amount that y increases as x increases some amount. Slope tells you how steep a line is, or how much y increases as x increases. The slope is constant (the same) anywhere on the line.

Lyrics

SLOPE

This how it go
We talking about a slope

The slope of line is a number
That describe
direction and steepness of a line
SLOPE
It's a part of algebra
It has an formula
Y=mx+b
That's the slope
x2
The slope of a line
In the plane containing
the x and y
Axis is often
Represented by the letter m
SLOPE
Its defined as the change
In the y coordinate
Divided by the x coordinate
Hey That's the slope
The direction of a line is either
Increasing or decreasing
If it's in increasing it goes up
From left to right
The direction of a line either
 increasing or decreasingly
If it's decreasing it goes down
From left to right
A slope could be either
Horizontal or vertical
If it's horizontal then that mean
The slope is zero
A slope could be either
Horizontal or vertical
If it's vertical then That mean
Rather slope is undefined
The steepness incline
Or grade of a line
Is measured by the absolute
Value
The slope with a greater
Absolute value
Indicates that the slope
has a steeper line
Slope is calculated
by finding the ratio
Of the vertical change
To the horizontal change
Between any two distinct points
On a line. And sometimes
It's expressed as a quotient
Rise over run
I'm keeping it in motion
I know it's a little difficult
But please stay focus
While I show you how
To find the slopes
I hope you have your
Pen and pad
So you can take some notes
You divide the differences of the y coordinates.
Bj the differences of the x coordinates
Now here's the formula
Y and under there's a 2
- y and under Is a 1
Over
X and under there's a 2
- x and under there's a 1
The formula is what I was cooking
Now I'm finally done
That's was just a visual
