Tangent
Verse 1
When a Tri, angle is right//
The hypotenuse is the side opposite the nine-ty//
Degree angle the other angle yet to be defined//
The side closest to it’s adjacent, the other is opposite of what were trying to find//
The Sine is when you divide//
The hypotenuse by the opposite that gives you rise//
On a graph “Y”//
Cosine is so much alike//
“X” on a graph, its just dividing using different sides//
Hypotenuse by adjacent finds it every time//
To evaluate tangent is Sine over CoSine //
If the adjacent is 12 and the opposite is 9//
The tangent is point 75 //
I think Im on a tangent//
Verse 2
SOH CAH TO A//
SOH CAH TO A//
SOH CAH TO uuh let me explain//
Cuz these 3 trig functions can drive you insane//
So what is “SOH”?, S stands for Sine//
Which is opposite over hypotenuse or “S” “O” “H” in a line//
“CAH” is CoSine, adjacent over hypotenuse//
Or “C” “A” “H” see where knowing acronyms have gotten you?//
And finally “TOA”//
T stands for tangent, but now we got to dig a little deeper here we go//
Sine over CoSine//
That’s opposite over hypotenuse divided by//
Adjacent over hypotenuse but realize//
According to math principles//
We can multiply by the reciprocal//
And that makes it all a little easier to handle//
Cuz both of our H’s divide out, or cancel//
So after sticking to the basics//
We’ve discovered tangent is opposite over adjacent//
These are the three trigonometry functions//
Now you can use them alone or in conjunction//
